HELL
Christians don't spend much time regarding hell. However with 1 out of every 7-9 verses in the Quran making reference to hell, it is more of a preoccupation with Muslims. Indeed, one former Muslim, wrote that he could always feel Satan's hand tugging down on his arm.
The New Testament is the fulfillment of the Old Testament. Here is a prophecy of His coming:
Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of [his] government and peace [there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
Jesus gave us a new covenant:
Hebrews 8:13 In that he saith, A new [covenant], he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old [is] ready to vanish away.
A comparison between the Bible and the Quran reveals that one must choose between Jesus and the 1600 year record of the steady unfolding of the revelation of God to mankind, or Mohammed and the 23 year record of the unwitnessed recitations of this illiterate 7th century individual, who never performed a single miracle and whose religion stands alone - outside of God's Word.
The Quran is the opposite of the message, the commandments laid down, and the core of, the New Testament and new covenant. It rejects that Jesus is the Son of God, rejects that He died on the Cross, rejects that He is risen in the flesh, and it even curses Christians and Jews for believing in the Son of God.
"The Jews call 'Uzair a son of God, and the Christians call Christ the Son of God. That is a saying from their mouth; (In this) they but imitate what the Unbelievers of old used to say. God's curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth! (Surah 9.30)
The behavior of Jesus and Mohammed were opposite as well. Prince of Peace and bloody conquerer, or at least those he sent into battle. Islam is the opposite of the entire basis of the New Testament:
1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: [(but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also].
The Quran teaches that all Muslims will pass by or through hell, to attone for their sins before proceeding to heaven. From the most sanitized English version by Yusuf Ali:
Surah 19.67 But does not man call to mind that We created him before out of nothing?
68 So, by thy Lord, without doubt, We shall gather them together, and (also) the Evil Ones (with them); then shall We bring them forth on their knees round about Hell; 69 Then shall We certainly drag out from every sect all those who were worst in obstinate rebellion against (Allah) Most Gracious. 70 And certainly We know best those who are most worthy of being burned therein. 71 Not one of you but will pass over it: this is, with thy Lord, a Decree which must be accomplished. 72 But We shall save those who guarded against evil, and We shall leave the wrong-doers therein, (humbled) to their knees.
It is my understanding that the Arabic word that is translated as passing "over" hell, in other areas of the Quran, is translated as "through". Though "round about" is plenty close enough considering the following verses. According to God's Word this is a tragic deception of epic proportions, as is the entirety of Islam. There is absolutely no commuting between heaven and hell. Indeed there is a great gulf fixed that none may pass:
Luke 16:23-29 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that [would come] from thence. 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: 28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
Consider the following verses in the context of Mohammed and his followers:
2 Thessalonians 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 [Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
That Muslims can follow Mohammed considering his life of pillage, plunder, rape (even sexually violating 9 year old Aisha), bloody conquest, while reciting a book that allowed himself alone to have as many wives as he wanted, and then allowed him to steal his step-son's wife through another "revelation", is unimaginable. He has been hauling his minionsto perdition for 1400 years, with another 1.5 billion in the world today. They even boast over their population growth.
Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
